What does "Split Participants" mean in a double elimination bracket?
Split Participants allows organizers to host single stage (and two stage tournaments) with participants starting in the losers bracket (aka "lower bracket").
Single Stage Double Elimination Tournament With Split Participants
Two Stage Double Elimination Tournament With Split Participants
Here's a look at the Double Elimination group stage with two Pools of 16 participants each. They are labeled as "Group A" and "Group B".
Here are the standings at the end of the group stage, which shows two players advancing from each group. The number of participants you advance from each group can be configured in tournament settings. Notice that each group has one undefeated participant and one participant with a single loss.
The two participants with one loss start the Final Stage in the losers bracket, while the two participants without a loss start the final stage in the winners bracket (aka the winners bracket).
