# How to manage Substitutions within your tournament

Sometimes in your tournament a participant might not be able to play for a multitude of reasons, however, instead of the player forfeiting, you find someone to take their place. Here is how you can substitute players into your tournament. 

| First go to the participants tab in your tournament

From here you can see the list of participants:

| Next, locate the participant you are wanting to put a substitute in for. In this case it is 'James'

| Select the 'Substitute' button and a box will pop up asking you for the substitutes display name or username/email.

| Simply enter the substitutes display name or email/username and click 'Save.' Now you can see the new updated participant that has been subbed in
